One-to-One / Group Personal Training

"Training with Lee enabled me to successfully complete the Great North Run something I'd always dreamt of doing but never ever thought would become a reality." - Denise (Environmental Health Practitioner)

"Very good programme to kick start your fitness regime. Taking a holistic approach to your well being through personal fitness training." - Helen (Medical Sales Representative)

"I write this as one who has been a client of Lee's for about three years. I can honestly say that Lee has a good balance between encouragement and really making you work hard. The results with Lee have been very good indeed - and I have discovered that exercise can be enjoyable (well almost)" - J. Gibbon (Teacher)

"I have found Lee to be a fully supportive and knowledgeable personal trainer. I was very apprehensive about attending the gym and Lee was aware of that. However he soon put me at my ease and we worked together to develop my training programme to one which suited my lifestyle and my needs. Having informed Lee that I was in the early stages of pregnancy Lee took great time and effort to design a programme that was safe for myself and my unborn child. The amount of detail he went in to was indicative of his conscientiousness." - Sarah, Housewife and Mother

Sports Conditioning

Physiotherapy and Long Term Rehabilitation

"I began PT with Lee whilst waiting for yet another cartilage repair, on my right knee this time. Before training with Lee, I had almost begun to believe that I would never enjoy weekend walking and mountain-climbing again, and should resign myself to my limited capabilities. This was a depressing thought as at 42 I considered myself to be a young and active grandma, mum and teacher. Lee suggested with the right training I might even be able to do a bit of jogging - something that I had long ago written off as 'impossible' for my weak knees. Within four months I was starting to jog on the treadmill, and had reached a level of fitness and strength I would never have imagined possible. Not only my knees but my core was also stronger, and my body shape had improved as an added bonus! When I was called for the operation at the end of the fourth month, I was unsure whether to undertake it because I was feeling so much better. Lee suggested that I go ahead, assuring me I would recover more quickly this time as the flexibility and strength around the knee was balanced and in good shape. On the consultant's recommendation I am just beginning post-operative PT again with Lee, and I am looking forward to many, many years of hill-walking and mountain-climbing." - Stephanie, Teacher

"I originally started training with Lee due to a persistent back problem that would flair up every so often. Lee diagnosed the problem and put in place a specific programme to straighten and strengthen my back. He demonstrated a high degree of knowledge and skills, and whilst exercise is not usually my thing he managed to make the sessions very enjoyable. Since training with Lee I have had no problems with my back." - David

"Following several years of back problems, which culminated in a back operation in November 2001 I decided to see Lee and improve my general health. Lee has been absolutely marvellous and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has shown a huge understanding of both the physical body and the methods of improving fitness, flexibility and general well being. He has been a delight to work with as he is not only extremely knowledgeable but he has a very pleasant and friendly personality - which makes going to the gym a pleasure and not a chore." - Ken (Aeronautical Engineer)

"Despite having ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament and suffering a tibial plateau fracture (on the same knee in two separate skiing accidents in 1993 and 2002 respectively) Lee has helped me build up post operative fitness and stamina (but with a special emphasis on knee strength and stability), and I am now skiing again with no problems whatsoever! - Roger (Internet Marketing Consultant)

Over 60s

"The exercise class that Lee Smith runs at Maple Court Residential Home, Bingley has proved to be very successful over the 15 months it has been running. There are various types of clients with differing conditions (including lung problems, visually impaired and has problems with walking and balance in general and has to use a walking stick) who all seem to find the exercises beneficial to them, and this includes myself who is a cardiac patient with problems with claudication. All of us have benefited from the exercise class and the exercises prescribed by Lee. Namely increased mobility, balance, fitness and all round easier breathing especially among the Breathe Easy group participants with lung problems, and above all we are more confident in our everyday living which increases our quality of life. Socially everyone looks forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays; what more can you ask?" - Jack (member of over 60s exercise class)

"I wasn’t sure what it involved, at first, but I’m doing things that I normally don’t do, like squats using the ball, and we can do it at home as well. I’ve got more mobile, I just need to lose a bit more weight and I’d be more flexible still. One lady couldn’t balance before, she needed a stick, but she’s walking confidently now.” - Pauline (member of over 60s exercise class)
